Depression, fear, self-doubt, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through a collaboration of counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Nearly every relationship in your life will encounter some strain and strife along the way. Relationship therapy can help you to navigate, reattach, and reconnect to those most important in your life, This includes family relationships, friend relationships, and all forms of intimate relationships. Exploration of the root causes of these difficulties including attachment issues, sex and intimacy, and history of trauma are at the heart of rebuilding and redefining these relationships.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, hypervigilance, nightmares, flashbacks, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Gentle exploration of the lasting effects of trauma, and the possible maladaptive coping strategies that have developed as a protective mechanism that may no longer be serving you well, are some of the concepts we can consider. This will help you better understand yourself, your decisions, and world view or "Schema", as it is observed through your past experiences. This process will aid you in replacing those coping strategies that are no longer useful, or that are now causing you more distress, with healthy coping strategies to move you forward towards your goals and desired state of being.
Affirmative therapy is: an approach to therapy that embraces a positive view of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) identities and relationships and addresses the negative influences that homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism have on the lives of LGBTQ clients
Being affirmative means I treat loving couples, families, and transgender people with the dignity, respect, and affirmation they deserve
Counseling can be beneficial to individuals and those in relationships who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection to self and others, in all stages of life and their relationships. Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home with both individuals and relationship partners at a time that is convenient for you.
At the current time, Session Fees are due at time of consult, and are cash, credit, or debit card only. Credit/Debit Card must be kept on file for billing of late cancellation/No Show charges
Insurance is not currently being accepted or filed, however, a superbill can be supplied for you to submit to your insurance for out of network provider reimbursement at your leisure. Being a self-pay only practice also adds another layer of privacy and security to your services, and all diagnostic and clinical information remains in-house only for continued care and treatment planning purposes. Your privacy and discretion is of the upmost concern at this practice.
Good Faith Estimate Notice for 2022
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
If the client is more than 15min late for a scheduled appointment, the appointment will be considered as "No show" and will need to be rescheduled. "No Shows" for appointments are subject to being charged for the session. Cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours prior to scheduled appointments, except in the case of family emergencies. Cancellations not made within 24 hours are also subject to being charged for the full price of the scheduled session (except in emergencies), as this is time that another client could have been scheduled for needed services. A credit card must be kept on file, and is subject to be charged for these disruptions if necessary. Clients who have 3 instances of "No Show" will be subject to termination of services, and will be provided with referral resource information for obtaining further therapy services with another provider better suited to meet their needs.
